[News] Tesla is a top pick at Morgan Stanley amid its AI and robotics metamorphosis
Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) is still a top pick at Morgan Stanley despite recent softening sales trends.
Analyst Adam Jonas thinks Tesla's (NASDAQ:TSLA) softer auto deliveries are emblematic of a company in the transition from an automotive pure play to a highly diversified play on AI and robotics. "As AI moves from the digital world (bits and bytes) to the physical world (atoms and photons), we expect to see TSLA’s TAM aperture further expand to broader domains, many of which are still not included in buy-side or sell-side financial models for the company," wrote analyst Adam Jonas.
The bullish view on Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) is focused on the theory that the commercial opportunity of non-auto expressions of embodied AI is likely far larger and faster-adopting than that of autonomous cars. "We believe the humanoids opportunity could see a greater quantum of capital behind it with Tesla at the epicenter of the theme," highlighted MS.

[News] Nvidia's year-to-date drop 'stunning' so early in product cycle: Bernstein
Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) shares sank more than 8% by the close of Monday trading, as the stock has now declined 15% since the start of 2025, a fact that is "a little stunning" considering the artificial intelligence titan recently kicked off its Blackwell product cycle, according to Bernstein Société Générale Group.
"After yesterday's rout, the stock trades at ~25x NTM (next twelve months) earnings, their weakest level in a year and close to 10 year lows," said Bernstein analysts, led by Stacy Rasgon, in a Tuesday investor note. "In fact, the stock now trades BELOW parity relative to the SOX (something we have seen only once or twice in the past decade) and at only a slight S&P premium, the lowest they have been since 2016."
In comparison, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (SOX) has dropped 8% year to date.
"It is clear that the Blackwell introduction has not gone as smoothly as the company might have hoped, and there remains added volatility given how laser-focused investors are on this supply chain," Rasgon noted. "However, it does seem they have worked through things. Our post-earnings conversations with the company indicated the $11B in FQ4 Blackwell revenues all shipped in January (suggesting the floodgates are now open) and the company indicated to us that demand will continue to exceed supply for the next several quarters as they ramp."
However, growth concerns, possible supply chain issues, as well as tariff and regulatory risks, have all combined to recently weigh on the stock.
"Nevertheless, worries that the AI trade is 'over' feel a little premature to us, and valuation is getting increasingly attractive," Rasgon added. "Sentiment has clearly pivoted for now on the AI group. However, spending intentions seemingly continue to rise, a product cycle is just kicking off, and we have GTC coming in a few weeks."
Nvidia's GTC 2025, an AI Conference for Developers, runs from March 17-21 in San Jose, Calif.
Despite the recent volatility, Bernstein finds Nvidia's valuation attractive, and gives the stock an Outperform rating and a $185 price target.

[News] Trump establishes Strategic Bitcoin Reserve
President Trump on Thursday evening established a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and a United States Digital Asset Stockpile through an Executive Order.
The reserve is capitalized through bitcoin owned by the Treasury Department that was forfeited in criminal or civil asset forfeiture cases.
The bitcoin in the reserve is not to be sold. Also, the Treasury and Commerce secretaries are empowered to develop strategies to acquire additional bitcoin "provided that those strategies impose no incremental costs on American taxpayers," according to a White House fact sheet.
Regarding the U.S. Digital Asset Stockpile for other kinds of cryptocurrency, the federal government will not add to it outside what has already been obtained through forfeiture proceedings, per the Executive Order.
In a post on X, White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks said that the federal government owns about 200K bitcoin. "Premature sales of bitcoin have already cost U.S. taxpayers over $17 billion in lost value," he added. "Now the federal government will have a strategy to maximize the value of its holdings."

Firefly Aerospace successfully landed its Blue Ghost lunar lander on the Moon on March 2 at 3:34 a.m. EST. The accomplishment marked Firefly as the first commercial company to achieve a fully successful soft landing on the Moon. The Blue Ghost lander touched down in Mare Crisium, a large basin in the northeast quadrant of the Moon's near side, near a volcanic feature called Mons Latreille.
The lander is carrying 10 NASA instruments as part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative. Blue Ghost will operate for approximately 14 Earth days, conducting various experiments including lunar subsurface drilling, sample collection, and dust mitigation studies. The mission, named "Ghost Riders in the Sky," is the first of three planned lunar missions by Firefly through 2028.
Rocket Lab USA (NASDAQ:RKLB) played a role in the Blue Ghost mission, even though it did not send its own lander to the Moon. The company provided its MAX Flight and MAX Ground Data Software suites, which were instrumental in the lander's descent and landing. In addition, the company's Mission Operations Center in Littleton, Colorado, served as a remote and backup operations center for the mission and the company supplied three high-efficiency solar power assemblies for the Blue Ghost lander, providing 400 W of power over the mission's 1,470 operational hours.

Tesla's China-made EV sales drop sharply by 49.2% in February

Tesla sales in Germany plummet even as the overall EV market grows
Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) appears to have seen a large slump in demand in Germany, based on new data on registrations. Sales plunged 76% year-over-year in February to 1,429 cars, according to the German Federal Motor Transport Authority. For the same month, overall electric vehicle sales rose 31% in Germany.
For the first two months, Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) sales in Germany are down 71% compared to the level seen in 2024. The introduction of the new Model Y has led to lower inventories and customers waiting for the updated version. In addition, analysts believe there is backlash against Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk.
Elon Musk has become more controversial in Germany in 2025 due to his open support for the far-right Alternative für Deutschland party and for some of his remarks about Germany's Nazi past. His actions have raised concerns about foreign interference in German politics.

[Newsletter Exclusive] Google urges DOJ to avoid breaking up company - report
Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is urging President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice to avoid breaking up the search engine company, and has met with officials last week, Reuters reported, citing an individual familiar with the matter.
The U.S. Department of Justice is currently investigating two anti-monopoly cases against Google – one over search and another over advertising technology.
The DOJ had last year said that it may ask a judge to force Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) to divest parts of its business, such as its Chrome browser and Android operating system, that the Alphabet-owned company used to maintain an illegal monopoly in online search.
The DOJ was also considering behavioral and structural remedies that would prevent Google from using products such as Chrome, Play, and Android to advantage Google search and Google search-related products and features — including emerging search access points and features, such as artificial intelligence — over rivals or new entrants.
A federal judge is set to rule on how the company must change its practices following hearings scheduled for next month. Both sides are due to file their final proposals to the judge on Friday.

[Newsletter Exclusive] Cannabis MSOs rise amid renewed hope for federal marijuana legalization
Cannabis multi-state operators are higher Wednesday following a report that the Trump administration may be open to backing federal marijuana legalization.
At a meeting of conservative activists last week, Citizens Opposing Prohibition Drug Policy Specialist Howard Wooldridge was able to talk briefly with a Trump administration representative and express his belief that the drug war should be ended and cannabis legalized on the federal level, Marijuana Moment reported.

That proposal is expected to be sent by the end of the week.
Wooldridge noted that if Trump tells Congress to pass a cannabis reform bill, "members of Congress of the Republican Party are not going to resist the will of Donald Trump on essentially anything."

"The U.S. ask is for India to bring tariffs down to zero or negligible in most sectors, except agriculture," one source said, adding the expectation on New Delhi eliminating auto tariffs was "clearer than any other".

Apple likely to launch first foldable iPhone in 2026, could cost over $2,000: analyst
TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes a foldable iPhone could come next year.
The final specs on the device are likely to be "locked" in the second-quarter of this year, with the official "kickoff" of the project coming in the third quarter, Kuo said in a post on Medium. That would pave the way for mass production to occur in the fourth quarter of 2026, which is when Apple traditionally announces new iPhones.
However, the complexity of the device is likely to limit volume production until 2027, Kuo added.
The price of a foldable iPhone is expected to be significantly more than the current version of the iPhone, with retail prices expected to top $2,000, Kuo said.

Oppenheimer Asset Management pointed out that the S&P 500 (SP500) has dipped down to test its 200-day moving average, which they view as a potential buying opportunity for bullish investors looking for quality entry points in the market.
“We’ll be watching for signs of a near-term bottom over the coming days. Day traders can consider buying the S&P 500 with a stop on a close below 5,725 (200-day average),” Oppenheimer Asset Management remarked.
Additionally, the investment institution further commented: “The S&P 500 has corrected towards a test of its 200-day average marking support at 5,725. Lackluster action into Tuesday’s close suggests some follow through selling is possible this week. Still, we see the potential for a relief rally before selling continues later this month.”
As of Thursday, the benchmark S&P 500 trades at 5,755 and is off its all time high of 6,147.43 by 6.3%.
In other technical regards, the broader average has been flirting with oversold levels when examining the relative strength index (RSI) as it sits at 39.45 and came as low as 33.35 earlier this week.

NET Power: Small Bet For A Massive Payoff
We are a clean energy technology company that has developed a unique power generation system (the “Net Power Cycle”) that can produce clean, reliable, and low-cost electricity from natural gas while capturing virtually all atmospheric emissions.
Net Power began purchasing and expects to make additional purchases of initial long-lead materials for the first utility-scale plant in 2024 and 2025 and targets initial power generation between the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028.
NPWR is in the early stages of its growth plan. It has the advantage however of being owned by several large energy conglomerates like Occidental Petroleum (OXY). According to filings OXY owns 42% of all shares in NPWR.
The business model is very asset-light since NPWR will be generating the primary portion of all revenues through licensing deals which include the allotment to use the technology that NPWR has developed which is also patented by the company. Over the long term, this business model should create higher margins due to lower operating costs and lower costs associated with sales.
